Mission Trip to Antigua, Caribbean

Greetings of Christ's love and peace!

All glory and praise to God for a spirit-filled weekend as He commissioned us to minister the beautiful and warm people of Antigua!

Our trip going to the island on Friday, Feb. 28th  was uneventful and pleasant. The CFC spirit of brotherly and sisterly love of our local members toward the mission team was well felt from the time of our arrival to Antigua airport, getting to a well kept diocese mission house to a very warm reception at the Friday night assembly.

The Christian Life Program (CLP) completed on Saturday, March 1st was well received by the participants, the existing members and fully supported by the diocese. Bro. Asquith Riviere, the CFC Country Head alone, invited 18 couples from which 11 couples confirmed to attend but at the last minute won over by the other side. The CLP graduates on Saturday, March 1st were 3 Handmaids of the Lord and CLP Talks 1-8 were delivered on Sunday, March 2nd to 2 Handmaids of the Lord and 1 Servant of the Lord.

Going on a mission is a spiritual journey, we were empowered as we learned about how much we could give of ourselves - our means of comfort, time, resources and to leave our loved ones behind to further the work of God. We were fascinated to learn from the locals - their culture, simple living and hunger to deepen their faith. To have our HOLD Sis. Velda eagerly participate despite of discomforts resulting from her 3rd stroke was quite moving. The support of our HOLDs with the leadership of Sis. Cecilia Gomes was very impressive from set-up/cleaning up of the place and serving of sumptuous meals. The assistance of our couple members to make our stay as comfortable as can be deeply touched our hearts.

As we leave our CFC family behind with heavy hearts knowing their need for pastoral support, the team was prompted to provide Bro. Asquith formation program tools to help him move forward in his journey leading his flocks with zealous commitment to the ministry.

If we are going to be asked if we will be willing to further serve our brethren at the Caribbean, to be an instrument of soul conversion from darkness to light from unbelief to the truth - our response is a resounding "YES!" Yes, Yes Lord!

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” “Here I am,” I said; “send me!” ~ Isaiah 6:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. ~
Acts 1:8

Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." ~ Matthew 28:18-20

In His love and service,
