Mission to South America

 Mission to SOUTH AMERICA!

image.jpegDear brothers and sisters,

Sending you greetings from FLL as we await our boarding for Peru. Mission team from Coral Springs are set with all materials handy for the CLP tomorrow in Rioja, Peru. Officially to start Parjejas Para Cristo (CFC PPC) by conducting Programa Vida Cristiana (CLP) in a parish setting. Hosting priest Fr Rober Martinez Guerrero has been supportive of the program by inviting his community.

The mission team is composed of Beth and I with Br Patrick and Sis Essy Donoso. We will be joined by Fr Martin Mroz, Argentinian Missionary in Lucena, Philippines in Lima tonight. He flew in from Buenos Aires this morning. Fr Martin was the instrument in contacting his priest friend Fr Rober.

PVC will be a fast track for the weekend and will head south to Cusco before we do a R&R in Machu Piccho on Thurs. Friday we are meeting with a Filipino priest in Lima to have fellowship with local Filipino expats. We see opportunities there :)

I posted this in Facebook:

Perfect day to embark on mission, today's 1st reading Jesus says in Acts 1 "... But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Mission Trip to Antigua, Carribean - by WPB Mission Team

Posted by on in Mission & Evangelization

Mission Trip to Antigua, Caribbean

Greetings of Christ's love and peace!

All glory and praise to God for a spirit-filled weekend as He commissioned us to minister the beautiful and warm people of Antigua!

Our trip going to the island on Friday, Feb. 28th  was uneventful and pleasant. The CFC spirit of brotherly and sisterly love of our local members toward the mission team was well felt from the time of our arrival to Antigua airport, getting to a well kept diocese mission house to a very warm reception at the Friday night assembly.

The Christian Life Program (CLP) completed on Saturday, March 1st was well received by the participants, the existing members and fully supported by the diocese. Bro. Asquith Riviere, the CFC Country Head alone, invited 18 couples from which 11 couples confirmed to attend but at the last minute won over by the other side. The CLP graduates on Saturday, March 1st were 3 Handmaids of the Lord and CLP Talks 1-8 were delivered on Sunday, March 2nd to 2 Handmaids of the Lord and 1 Servant of the Lord.

Going on a mission is a spiritual journey, we were empowered as we learned about how much we could give of ourselves - our means of comfort, time, resources and to leave our loved ones behind to further the work of God. We were fascinated to learn from the locals - their culture, simple living and hunger to deepen their faith. To have our HOLD Sis. Velda eagerly participate despite of discomforts resulting from her 3rd stroke was quite moving. The support of our HOLDs with the leadership of Sis. Cecilia Gomes was very impressive from set-up/cleaning up of the place and serving of sumptuous meals. The assistance of our couple members to make our stay as comfortable as can be deeply touched our hearts.

As we leave our CFC family behind with heavy hearts knowing their need for pastoral support, the team was prompted to provide Bro. Asquith formation program tools to help him move forward in his journey leading his flocks with zealous commitment to the ministry.

If we are going to be asked if we will be willing to further serve our brethren at the Caribbean, to be an instrument of soul conversion from darkness to light from unbelief to the truth - our response is a resounding "YES!" Yes, Yes Lord!

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” “Here I am,” I said; “send me!” ~ Isaiah 6:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. ~
Acts 1:8

Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." ~ Matthew 28:18-20

In His love and service,

ENJOY being Catholic!!!

Posted by on in Praise Reports & Testimony

Even if you can't defend the faith, or explain every doctrine, or prove it from the Bible - what you CAN do is this: ENJOY being Catholic!!!This is the key to the New Evangelization! Even if you can't defend the faith, or explain every doctrine, or prove it from the Bible - what you CAN do is this: ENJOY being Catholic!!! That's the best way to evangelize friends, family, co-workers and everybody else. Why? Because the world offers countless pleasures, but no lasting joys. What Jesus Christ gives is joy, even in the midst of hardship and sorrow. Joy is what we all want and need. JOY is something others will find irresistable -and irrefutable! And whenever we find ourselves without it, as Pope Francis reminds us, that's a reminder that we also need to be re-evangelized, because the grace of conversion is not something that's 'over and done' in the past; rather it's ongoing, and ever-deepening, and lifelong - but never easy!

"God will never put you in a situation that you can't handle." —Unknown

Posted by on in Inspirational

"God will never put you in a situation that you can't handle." —Unknown

We hear this saying all the time. Sometimes we automatically nod our heads because it just sounds right. The problem is, it isn't true. We've all hit obstacles in our walks that aren't possible for us to pass. In fact, we can even say that God puts things in our lives that we can't take care of on purpose. If we could handle everything on our own, there would be no need for us to rely on God.

But God is able to bless (empower us with His grace) you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. —2 Corinthians 9:8. Because of God's grace, we are able to do things that we would be unable to do on our own. How does that work? Obey Him and allow Him to work through us, and we also experience it in a personal and unique way. He will energize our thoughts or the molecules in our bodies to allow us to accomplish things and choose things that we couldn't without His strength.

Attendees from CFC Women's Retreat May 25, 2013 taken during group discussion

Posted by on in Praise Reports & Testimony

Women of great faith (attendees of CFC Women's Retreat May 25, 2013 taken during group discussion)..please be inspired by the following message as shared by a HOLD member, Debbie S. from Lakeland, FL excerpt from - My Book, God..

"Do you have any idea where you're going? God

Motion and movement are not the same. As I look down from heaven, I see lots of people in motion, but without any idea where they are going. I take great joy in seeing motion become movement, which leads to mission in life.

The first step in turning your motion into movement is to stop relying in what you think you know. Being God, my ways and thoughts are higher than yours - but I am happy to reveal them to you if you will trust in me with all your heart and listen to my Word.

The greatest challenge in discerning direction is to stop looking for it with your own impulse and intuition - and learn to receive guidance from me. I have given you my Word as your guide and my Spirit as your Helper. Let them direct your life! Trust me lead you to the truth . But you have to learn to live by faith, not by sight. Don't let strange or unexpected things throw you off track - trust that I am right there with you.

If you're having trouble finding where to go in life, just ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock - and the door will be opened to you."
